The following is a list of useful links that I have compiled.
Favorite Sites
This is in Old Towne Manassas and is a great place, particularly during the summer, to go to outdoor concerts and such. On this website is a calendar of events.
Here you can find free staff paper that you can print right off your computer!
This is a online metronome that will help you keep a steady beat while you practice!
This is a great site to download classical music. Free members can listen to 5 pieces a day, only live streaming of music (not downloads). Paying members ($25 a year) can actually download music, up to 1,000 songs a month! Sounds like a great deal to me!
Dallas Symphony Orchestra Kids site
This website has lots of fun music stuff for kids.
We use the Cello Drones in class for tuning and intonation excercises. If you would like to buy your own copy of this CD here is the link.
These orchestras are something that students can audition to get in. They are based on ability level and there is an orchestra for every ability level. I strongly recommend students do this.
This is a great site to find music recordings. You can find almost any piece of classical music on this site.
I like getting CD's from this site because there is an excerpt from every track you can listen to so you are sure you have the piece you want.
